Brown budget #GOTuitionHikes!

Posted 18 October 2023

Soliciting cheap applause, Lisa Brown has taken to closing out her stump speech with GO Eags! and GO Cougs! She is even making campaign suggestions that if Mayor, the GO Zags will be back in the Final Four. Brown’s broken record that she created the WSU medical school has been playing on loop for years.

And, she never misses a chance to tell you she was chancellor of WSU Spokane for a few years while she used the position to get to know the higher ups in the 5th congressional district’s critical Whitman County.

Whether in the ivory tower of academia or in Olympia’s pleasure dome, let’s see how sacred Lisa Brown held the students … they didn’t have a prayer.

Above, legislators and a public college student describe their regrets about Lisa Brown balancing the state budget on the backs of students

When it came time to cut the budgets during a downturn in the economy, Brown led the drastic reduction of state funding to higher education – cutting state funding 54% in Washington.  The result would be college tuition in our state nearly tripled forever, denying advancement opportunities for thousands of Washington students.

Daniel Walters described “Loophole Lisa” as such,

Yet Brown claiming that she didn't vote raise tuition is a little like if Hillary Clinton had claimed she didn't vote for a war in Iraq, because she simply voted to give President George W. Bush the authority to go to war in Iraq.

“We haven’t shared the budgets with each other” - Senator Lisa Brown

If you have followed the campaign for Spokane Mayor at all, you know how unrelenting Lisa Brown has been on the Mayor’s budget submittal to Spokane Council. Just last night at the KHQ debate our Mayor corrected Lisa and informed her that Council has her balanced budget.

But back to class …

Above, among other items, then Senator Lisa Brown says that she is “open” to raising tuition hikes above seven percent. Now, she has a “plan” for the City of Spokane to get into the early education business.

Lisa Brown claims to have a “program” for everything. But, she won’t tell you who will pay. Watch Olympia Lisa handle press in the video above and decide if Spokane can afford four years of this type of two-stepping.
