First Responders again forgotten in City Council Camp Hope “celebration”

POSTED 8 July 2023

As per the Spokane City Council press release below, Breean Beggs, Betsy Wilkerson and the rest of the Council majority are prepared to again celebrate the “success” of Camp Hope.

Sadly, among their accolades are not our Police, EMT’s, Firefighters, and Sanitary Workers who labored in inhumane conditions, at all hours, and in an unsecure environment.

The City Council majority also neglects the sacrifices of East Central neighbors, business owners, parents, children and students over these past two years of the protest.

For heaven’s sake, the Council majority doesn’t even plan on thanking the homeless.  They might be lost in all the tens of millions of dollars (our taxes) “brought” to local contractors by the Governor and Lisa Brown while at WA Commerce to “solve” camp hope. We citizens will not forget that there are some success stories of people who despite the immense challenges of the camp - defied all odds and are on their path to a better life!

Citizens! You can voice your views this Monday at Spokane City Council.  For information about the process click here and/or contact:
