Lisa Brown pledges to dismantle justice system

Posted 4 October 2023

At yesterday’s NAACP / KYRS mayoral debate held at the Downtown Spokane public library, KREM2 reports on Lisa Brown’s position on crime and justice,

"We're at a place where there are racial disparities in our criminal justice system and we have to dismantle them,"Brown said.

Brown did not provide details about how she would go about dismantling our criminal justice system. However, her public stance against the highly-popular Spokane Proposition One and Spokane County Measure One demonstrate that Lisa not only opposes criminal accountability, but she also opposes crime prevention.

Lisa Brown has a long history of protecting the “rights” of criminals. Serving time in the State House in 1996, Lisa Brown was a leading member of the “Anti-Safety Six.”

While 90 legislators voted yes on House Bill 2734, Lisa Brown and 5 others voted NO on the bill

Restricting sex offenders from establishing a residence within a certain distance of a school.

Not one person testified opposing the bill in the WA House of Representatives.

FROM THE EDITOR: Also regarding last night’s debate - as a Mom of three members of our United States armed services and wife of a military man, I was highly disappointed with Betsy Wilkerson as she said her service on City Council gives her PTSD.
